Rainfall

Share |

Weather conditions are a key consideration with all location shoots, and researching the climate is often one of the first tasks in selecting a shortlist of suitable locations.

Weather Patterns for the Probability of Rainfall shows the probability of rain falling at a particular place for all hours of the day and night. This is based on observations that are made over a number of years at regular times during the day, typically at three-hourly intervals.

By interpolating this data it is possible to illustrate variations in the probability of rain falling through the day and night. The following example for Cairns in Queensland Australia shows that during February and March it is more likely to rain at night than during the day.
