Weather Patterns |
Weather Patterns show likely values for the occurrence of various weather conditions at a particular time of the day for any month of the year, based on historical values collected by weather stations over many years at regular times of the day. |
Months are plotted on the horizontal axis. For the Northern Hemisphere the first month is January and for the Southern Hemisphere it is July. This enables different locations to be compared irrespective of hemisphere, with summer always in the centre. |
Time of day is plotted on the vertical axis as hours after midnight, with lines drawn to indicate when the sun rises and sets. All times are shown in Local Standard Time, that is without adjustment for summer time (daylight saving). |
